Connecting Google Analytics 4 to AI: ask a question instead of building a report
Google Analytics 4 can be connected to AI. The assistant answers questions about visitors, channels, pages and conversions from the property you designate, and shows who is on the site at this moment. The connector only reads: nothing in your GA4 is configured, changed or deleted.
What the assistant can pull from GA4
Visitors and sessions over a period
How many people came, how many sessions that was, and how it moved across the weeks. The assistant picks the breakdown that fits the question instead of running a fixed report.
Where the traffic came from
A breakdown by channel, source and country, so it becomes clear whether a change comes from search traffic, from a campaign or from direct visits.
Which pages get read
Page views per page, narrowed to part of the site such as the blog or the shop if you want. You get the head of the list, not thousands of rows.
Two periods side by side
Last month against the month before, or the same month a year ago. The assistant names the difference instead of only showing the latest figure.
Visitors right now
Who is on the site at this moment, with the page alongside. Useful during a campaign launch or just after a newsletter goes out.
Questions that currently go unasked
Marketing
- Situation
- After a campaign someone wants to know whether traffic to the landing page really went up, and where it came from.
- What the agent does
- The assistant retrieves the traffic per channel for the campaign period and puts the equivalent period before it alongside.
- Result
- An answer with the difference included, instead of a screenshot of one graph without a comparison.
E-commerce
- Situation
- Revenue is falling and nobody knows whether it is the traffic or the conversion.
- What the agent does
- The assistant lines up visitor numbers and conversions over the same periods and breaks them down by channel.
- Result
- The conversation goes straight to the channel where the difference sits, not to who is going to build the report.
Editorial
- Situation
- A content team wants to know which articles were read last quarter and which were not.
- What the agent does
- The assistant asks for the best read pages within the blog over that quarter.
- Result
- A list that can go straight into the planning for the next quarter.
Customer service
- Situation
- Questions about one subject suddenly pile up and nobody knows whether something on the site broke.
- What the agent does
- The assistant looks at which pages are being visited at this moment and compares that with the usual pattern.
- Result
- Within a few minutes it is clear whether there is a spike on one page or whether it is coincidence.

1
Connect from the platform
An administrator connects GA4 from within IntraGPT and designates the property the assistant may look at. The consent lives in your own Google account and can be revoked there at any moment.
-
2
Read only, by design
The connector can only request figures. There is no way through IntraGPT to change a goal, a filter or a setting in GA4. What is there stays as you configured it.
-
3
Agree on what you call things
Together we record what your channels and goals are called and which figures you treat as leading. Without that agreement an assistant sometimes picks a number that exists but does not measure what you mean.
-
4
Decide who may ask
Per connector you set which employees may request the figures. Every use is visible afterwards in the platform log.
Numbers about people stay numbers about people
Web statistics are about visitors, and even aggregated they remain sensitive information about behaviour. That is why this connector is kept narrow.
Where the data lives: Nederland of de EU
Reading and nothing else
Through this connector the platform cannot adjust anything in your GA4, not even if somebody asks for it. The possibility simply does not exist.
One property per connector
A connector belongs to one property. If you measure several sites you create several connectors and decide per connector who may use it.
The consent stays yours
Access sits in your own Google account and can be revoked there. IntraGPT stores no password for that account.
The model runs with us
The figures are processed on our own server in the Netherlands. They do not go to an external model provider and nothing is trained on them.
Questions about the Google Analytics 4 connector
Can I connect Google Analytics 4 to ChatGPT?
There is no managed connection through which an organisation attaches ChatGPT to a GA4 property with roles, a fixed property and a log. IntraGPT connects on your own Google account, with one property per connector, and the model runs on our own server. You decide who may use the assistant.
Does IntraGPT work with Google Analytics 4?
Yes, and it is a working integration in use at customers. The assistant answers questions about visitors, channels, pages and conversions and shows who is on the site right now. Universal Analytics does not work, because Google switched that version off.
Why does GA4 count fewer visitors than Google Ads?
That is normal and not a measurement error. In the EU a substantial share of visitors refuses cookies, so GA4 does not measure those visits or measures them only partly, while an advertising platform simply counts its own clicks. A gap between the two is to be expected. The assistant says so rather than presenting the two numbers as contradictory.
Are the figures exact?
Not always. With large volumes GA4 works from samples and it sometimes leaves small numbers out, so a breakdown can stay empty while the total is filled. Treat the outcome as an indication and watch the period. For hard numbers the source in your own system is a better fit.
Can the AI change anything in our Analytics?
No. The connector can only request figures. Goals, events, filters and users stay out of reach, so that possibility does not exist in this connection.
What does a Google Analytics 4 connector cost?
The connector is part of the trajectory we go through together. The work sits in the access, in designating the right property and above all in the agreements: which figures are leading for you and what you call your channels.
How long does setting it up take?
Connecting is a matter of granting consent and choosing the property. The time goes into the agreements about measurement names. If a site has its own structure of events, it is wise to write that down before the assistant starts using it.
Can we connect several properties?
Yes, with one connector per property. That is deliberate: it makes certain which site an answer is about, and it lets you decide per site who may request the figures.
Can the assistant read Google Ads or Search Console too?
Not with this connector, which covers GA4 only. For keyword positions and backlinks there is a separate Ahrefs connector, and advertising data comes from its own connector on that platform.
