Connecting Resend to AI: send it, then know for sure that it arrived

Resend can be connected to AI with a key from your own account. The assistant can send a message from your verified domain and afterwards check whether that message was actually delivered. It cannot do much more here, which is the point: there is no contact or list management in it. Sending cannot be undone and happens only on explicit request.

Resend is made for teams that want to send mail from their own application without a whole marketing suite around it. No campaigns, no segments, no address file: a recipient, a subject, a text, and the message is gone. Organisations that park their application mail there choose that deliberately, because there is less to configure and therefore less that can go wrong. That small surface is why this connector deserves different treatment from a broad mail suite. The assistant can do two things here, and neither touches personal data beyond the message itself. What pays off most in practice is the check afterwards: for a message it sent itself, it can ask whether the recipient received it. The question of whether that confirmation really went out can then be answered without anyone opening a dashboard or disturbing a developer.

The assistant writes subject and content and sends the message to one or more recipients. That happens from an address on the domain you verified at Resend; any other sender address does not get through.

Replies reach a human

A message can carry a reply address, and colleagues can be put in copy. The recipient's answer then lands in a mailbox somebody actually watches, rather than at an address that only sends.

Keep kinds of messages apart

A send can carry a label, for instance to separate confirmations from reminders. That helps when you later want to see which kind of message went out when.

Check whether it was delivered

For a message the assistant sent itself, it can ask for the delivery status. It can therefore confirm that something arrived, instead of reporting that it was sent and hoping for the best.

    Prepare the domain at Resend

    Resend sends only from a domain verified in your account. You arrange that verification once at Resend itself, and without that step no message gets through.

    Connect with your own key

    The connector uses a key from your own Resend account. Your administrator can revoke it at any moment, which stops the connector immediately.

    Agree who may have mail sent

    Because there is little to do here, the setup conversation is mostly about who may ask for a send. You record that in the roles.

Being able to send mail on behalf of your domain is a serious right, even when only two things are possible. That is why this connector is kept narrow and why nothing happens silently.

Only from your own domain

Sending works solely from the domain you verified at Resend. A message on behalf of some other domain does not get through.

No contacts, no lists

There is no way through this connector to request, create or list contact details. No address file can be pulled out of Resend along this route.

Show first, send after

A sent message cannot be withdrawn. The assistant therefore shows the recipient, the subject and the full text, and sends only when explicitly asked to.

Processing on your own server

What the assistant writes stays on our own server in the Netherlands, where open-weight models run. Message content does not travel to a model provider outside that environment and serves as training material nowhere.

Can I connect Resend to ChatGPT?

That would place a key able to send mail on behalf of your domain with a public service, without roles and without an audit log. Why does Resend refuse our sender address?

Nearly always because the domain is not verified yet, or because the sender address sits on a different domain than the verified one. Resend checks this on every send. The fix is not in the connector but in your Resend account: verify the domain and then use an address that sits on it.

How do I know a mail arrived?

You simply ask the assistant. For a message it sent itself, it can request the delivery status from Resend. That is different from a read receipt: it concerns whether the message was handed over to the receiving mail server. When there is doubt about a confirmation mail, this is the quickest way to be sure.

Can the assistant send a newsletter through Resend?

This connector is not made for that. It carries no list management and no way to assemble a group of recipients, so a newsletter would come down to loose messages without unsubscribe handling. Campaigns and lists belong in a marketing package, and those can be connected separately.

Is such a narrow connector not limiting?

For a marketing team it would be, for application mail it is not. If you only send confirmations and notifications, sending and checking is all you need. The advantage is that nothing can happen to contact details along this route, which keeps the agreements with the administrator simple. If you need more, you connect a package that offers it alongside.

What does a Resend connector cost?
