Connect Monday.com to AI: answers from the board without scrolling

Monday.com can be connected to AI. The assistant looks at the boards you designate, reads the columns of an item and tells you in plain language where things stand. On request it adds an item in the group you name or updates a column, a status or a date for instance.

Monday.com is used above all by teams without a developer in the room: marketing, recruitment, purchasing, inside sales. There the board is the reality. Every row is a job, a candidate or an order, and the columns next to it say what the status is, who owns it, when it is due and what the budget is. That works fine as long as you are in the board yourself. The moment someone outside the team wants to know something, the scrolling, filtering and retyping starts, and it costs the time of exactly the colleague who keeps the board. With an AI connector you simply ask. The assistant looks at the board the question is about, reads the columns that matter and answers in a sentence. It knows how your boards are put together: which group is used for what, which column carries the status and which one the deadline. That also lets it add something that looks like the rest straight away, instead of a row that is half filled in. What it may add or change is agreed in advance, because a board is shared work and nobody wants a surprise on it.

What the assistant does for you on a board

Look up items on a board

You name the board and the assistant finds the row you mean, by the name of a customer, a candidate or a job. It stays on that one board, so the answer is not polluted with rows from another department.

Reading the columns

The columns next to an item carry the meaning: status, owner, deadline, amount. The assistant reads exactly the columns that belong to the question and turns them into an answer in plain language.

Taking groups into account

A board is divided into groups, per month or per phase for example. The assistant uses that division, so a question about this quarter does not drag in the entire history of the board.

Add an item

When a new request or job comes along, the assistant puts it on the board as an item, in the group you designated, with the columns filled in. The whole team sees that row, so it acts after your approval.

Update a status or a date

An existing item can get a different status or a new deadline. The assistant first names which item and which column it wants to change, so you see what shifts before it happens.

The updates under an item

Below an item the team keeps track of progress in updates. The assistant reads those along, so it can give the context behind a status instead of only the label itself.

Teams that run their work on a board

Recruitment

Situation
A hiring manager wants to know how many candidates for a vacancy sit in the interview phase.
What the agent does
The assistant looks at the vacancy board and counts the items in that phase.
Result
An immediate answer, without the recruiter having to open and filter the board.

Marketing

Situation
At the start of the week it has to be clear which campaign items are due in the coming days.
What the agent does
The assistant goes through the campaign board by deadline and names the owner alongside.
Result
A list inside the conversation that can be questioned further right away.

Inside sales

Situation
A customer calls about an order and the colleague who keeps the board is away.
What the agent does
The assistant looks up the item by customer name and reads out the status and the expected date.
Result
The customer gets an answer during the call instead of later that day.

Purchasing

Situation
An email brings in a new request that belongs on the purchasing board.
What the agent does
The assistant proposes an item with supplier, description and requested date and puts it on the board after approval.
Result
The request sits on the board in the same shape as the rest, with no manual retyping.

Project management

Situation
After a meeting three statuses have changed that still need to land in Monday.
What the agent does
The assistant updates the items one by one, each time after showing what it is about to change.
Result
The board is accurate again before the meeting is over.

Connecting and drawing the boundary

  1. 1

    Switch the connector on

In IntraGPT you pick Monday.com and grant the connector access to your environment. You give that access yourself and you can stop it again at any moment.

  2. 2

    Designate the boards

You determine which boards take part. If several departments share one workspace, the boards of the other departments stay out of view.

  3. 3

    What enters the answer

The assistant retrieves the rows and columns that belong to the question. Files and the rest of the board stay outside the conversation.

  4. 4

    Adding and changing

Whether the assistant only looks or may also put something on the board is your choice. If it may write, every addition and change appears in the log.

Connected securely

A board is visible to the entire workspace

Anything the assistant puts on a board or changes there is seen by everyone with access to that board. That is why where it may go and what it may adjust is agreed up front.

Access that you grant

The connector works with access you issue inside Monday.com yourself and can withdraw again. Do that and the connector stops immediately.

Writing is separate from reading

Looking along and recording something are two separate choices. An assistant that only answers questions simply cannot put anything on a board.

Traceable who asked what

Every action sits in the log with the board and the result. For a changed status it is therefore possible to check when it happened and at whose request.

On our own server

The model runs on our own server in the Netherlands. What sits on your boards does not go to an American model provider and is never used for training.

Frequently asked questions about Monday.com and IntraGPT

Can I connect Monday.com to ChatGPT?

ChatGPT has no built-in connection to Monday.com. You can export a board and upload the file, but then the answer is a snapshot and your planning sits with a public service. IntraGPT looks at the board live with the access you grant yourself, and keeps a record of what was done.

Does IntraGPT work with Monday.com?

Yes. Monday.com is in the IntraGPT connector catalogue and is in use at customers. The assistant can check boards and items and, if you switch that on, add an item or update a column.

Our columns have names of their own, does that work?

Yes, and we pay attention to it during setup. On a board that has grown for years a column is often named differently from what it holds, and sometimes two teams use the same word for different things. We record per board which column carries the status, which the deadline and which the owner, so the assistant answers in your language rather than that of a standard template.

Can the assistant create a new board itself?

No. It works on boards that already exist: adding items and updating columns. Setting up a board, adding columns and configuring automations remains work someone does inside Monday. That is deliberate: the structure of a board is an agreement within the team and we do not let a model invent it.

Does it work if we have several workspaces?

Yes. Per connector you designate which boards take part, even when they live in different workspaces. The other way round you can keep a workspace out of view, a board with salary data or a management board for instance. The assistant then does not even see that it exists.

Who sees it when the assistant changes something?

Everyone with access to that board, just as with a colleague making an edit. A new item or a changed status can also generate notifications for the people following that item. That is why the assistant first shows what it wants to do and acts only after approval, and why it appears in the log afterwards.

What does a Monday.com connector cost?

The connecting is part of the track we go through together. What determines the work is how many boards take part, how idiosyncratically they are set up, and whether the assistant may also put something on a board. We map that out in a short conversation.

How long does setup take?

Switching the connector on and designating the first boards takes half an hour. After that the time goes into the columns and the groups: how you use them differs per team and we record that. In practice a working setup is standing within a few days.
