Connecting Mollie to AI: ask for the status of a payment in plain language
Mollie can be connected to AI. The assistant checks which payments exist and what became of them, pulls up a single transaction when the question is about one specific order, and can prepare a payment link. Refunding is possible too, but it is irreversible and therefore happens only after somebody has confirmed the amount and the transaction.
What the Mollie connector does
Payments with their status
The assistant checks which payments came in recently and what their status is. A question such as which payments failed or expired yesterday is answered straight away.
Check a single payment
When the question is about one specific order it pulls up that payment with the amount, the description and the current status. Useful when a customer quotes a payment reference or an order number.
Prepare a payment link
The assistant can set up a new payment with the amount, a description and where the customer lands after paying. The link can then go to the customer.
Refund in full or in part
On an existing payment the assistant can send money back, including part of the amount. That is a genuine financial action and happens only on request and after confirmation.
Statuses in plain language
Open, paid, failed, expired and cancelled mean exactly the same in the conversation as they do in Mollie. The assistant does not loosen them into something else and draws no conclusions from them.
Daily use at shops and service firms
Shop support
- Situation
- A customer emails that he paid but received no confirmation, and quotes an order number.
- What the agent does
- The assistant finds the matching payment and reports whether it is paid, open, failed or expired.
- Result
- An unambiguous answer within the same email exchange, without anyone opening the Mollie dashboard.
Professional services
- Situation
- An adviser wants a client to pay quickly for a one-off job without setting up an invoice.
- What the agent does
- The assistant prepares a payment with the agreed amount and a description and returns the payment link.
- Result
- The client can pay immediately and the job can start without waiting for an administrative round.
Returns handling
- Situation
- One item out of a three-item order is coming back and the customer is waiting for the money.
- What the agent does
- The assistant looks up the original payment and proposes a partial refund for the amount of that item.
- Result
- After confirmation the refund is on its way, with the reason recorded alongside it.
Finance
- Situation
- At the end of the week it has to be clear how many payments failed or expired and whether there is a pattern.
- What the agent does
- The assistant lists that week's failed and expired payments.
- Result
- An overview that shows whether one payment method is responsible or whether it is spread out.
Setting up: four choices
-
1
Live or test
Mollie has a test and a live environment. You grant access yourself for the environment you work with, and you can withdraw that access just as easily.
-
2
Which actions are allowed
Checking payments is on straight away. Preparing a payment link and refunding are separate choices that you switch on or off independently of each other.
-
3
Who gets access
You decide which roles may use the payment assistant. Support might get the checking but not the refunding, while finance gets both.
-
4
Traceable in the log
Every action lands in the log. For a refund it records which transaction it concerned, which amount and who asked for it.
A refund cannot be undone
A refund moves real money and has no button to reverse it. The connector is deliberately strict about that.
Where the data lives: Nederland of de EU
Confirmation for every refund
The assistant first names the transaction, the amount and the currency and waits for an explicit yes. Without that confirmation no money goes back.
Write actions off unless enabled
Preparing a payment link and refunding are off by default. They are enabled per role, so a general assistant does not have them at its disposal.
No customer payment credentials
The assistant works with amounts, statuses and descriptions. Customers' account numbers and card details do not end up in an answer.
On a dedicated server
The language model runs on a dedicated server in the Netherlands. Your customers' transaction data does not travel to an American model provider and is not used for training anywhere.
Questions about Mollie in IntraGPT
Can I connect Mollie to ChatGPT?
ChatGPT has no connection to your Mollie account, and you do not grant access to a payment provider to a public chatbot. IntraGPT works like a chat, but with a connector pinned to one Mollie account that only does what you released and records every action.
Does IntraGPT work with Mollie?
Yes, this is a working integration in use at clients. The assistant checks payments and their status, pulls up a single transaction, can prepare a payment link and can issue refunds when you allow it.
What does a Mollie connector cost?
Connecting is part of the trajectory we go through together. What determines the work is whether payment links may be prepared and refunds issued, and which roles may do so. We talk that through beforehand.
How long does setup take?
Once access is arranged the connection stands within minutes. The lead time sits in the choice between test and live and in agreeing who may have refunds made. That is more often an organisational question than a technical one.
What do the statuses Mollie gives actually mean?
Open means started but not completed, paid speaks for itself, failed means the payment was declined, expired means it was not paid in time, and cancelled means the customer or you broke it off. The assistant takes that status literally, so no interpretation slips in.
Can the assistant undo a refund?
No. A refund at Mollie is final and there is no way to reverse it. That is why the assistant always shows the transaction and the amount first and waits for confirmation. If you want the money after all, a new payment is the route.
Who decides whether refunds may be issued?
That is a choice for your administrator, separate from the rest. Many organisations release the checking of payments widely and keep refunding with a small group. If it is not enabled, the assistant cannot do it, even when somebody asks insistently.
How does the assistant find the right payment for an order?
The quickest route is the payment reference that belongs to the transaction; it appears in the Mollie overview and usually in the confirmation your own system sends. If you only have an order number or a date and an amount, the assistant walks the payments of those days to pick out the right one.
