Connecting Google Calendar to AI: let the agent work out the scheduling
Google Calendar can be connected to AI. The assistant sees which calendars exist, reads and searches events, works out when everyone is free and schedules, moves or cancels a meeting. You can set the connector to read only; scheduling is then ruled out and Google is asked for read permissions only.

List calendars
The agent first asks which calendars exist and where it has write access. That is always the first step, so it does not look in the wrong calendar.
Read and search events
Retrieve events in a period with recurrences expanded, or search on a keyword. Search looks back half a year by default, because the question is often about something that already happened.
View one event
For a found event the agent retrieves the details: attendees, location and the meeting link. Only at that point, not on every search.
Find free slots
The agent finds free blocks within working hours, with attendees' calendars taken into account. Working days, start time and end time are configurable, so a four day week stays a four day week.
Check availability
There is a separate action for the raw busy blocks in a period. Useful when you only want to know when someone definitely cannot.
Schedule, change, cancel
Schedule an event with attendees, recurrence and an online meeting, move it or cancel it and inform the attendees. Only on explicit request, and always after checking availability.
Respond to invitations
Accept, decline or answer tentatively, with a comment. That keeps the organiser's calendar accurate without anyone digging through an inbox.

Connect your Workspace
An administrator connects IntraGPT to your own Google Workspace from the platform and grants consent while doing so. That consent lives in your Workspace and can be withdrawn there.

Set the rights
Per connector you choose whether the assistant may only look along or also schedule, and which roles get it. Set to read, there is no route by which it still puts something in a calendar.

What the assistant sees
You choose which calendars take part and which time zone applies. A date like next Tuesday is worked out first, so the assistant does not schedule on the wrong day.

The assistant asks for availability first and only then schedules, never blindly. Every lookup and every scheduled meeting is in the log with the action and the outcome.
A calendar says more than you think
A calendar reveals who you talk to, when you are away and what you are working on. That is why the connector is bounded and visibly configurable.

Read only really is read only
In read only mode the platform refuses scheduling, changing, cancelling and responding, and does not even mention those actions in the tool label. The model therefore does not attempt them.
Scheduling sends invitations
Creating, changing or cancelling an event sends messages to the attendees. That is why it only happens on explicit request and why the agent summarises afterwards what it scheduled.
The consent stays yours
The consent sits in your own Google Workspace and can be withdrawn there. IntraGPT stores no password.
Processing on your own server
The model runs on your own server. What is in your calendar is not sent to an external model provider.
Questions about the Google Calendar connector
Can I connect Google Calendar to ChatGPT?
There is no managed, organisation-configurable connection between ChatGPT and your Google Workspace with roles and logging. IntraGPT connects the calendar on your own Workspace, with a mode per connector and a model running on your own server.
Does IntraGPT work with Google Calendar?
Yes. Google Calendar has a native implementation in IntraGPT with ten calendar actions, including calculating free slots and scheduling appointments.
Can the AI just drop appointments into my calendar?
Only if the connector is set to read and write, and only when you ask. The agent checks availability first, shows what it intends to schedule and summarises afterwards what happened.
Does it handle recurring appointments?
Yes. When reading, recurrences are expanded so a weekly series does not count as one block. When scheduling, a recurrence may be an RRULE or a description. A pattern that is not supported is refused rather than half translated.
What does a Google Calendar connector cost?

How long does setup take?
Connecting is a matter of a single consent screen at Google. The lead time usually sits not in the technology but in the internal agreement: who may grant that consent, which calendars take part and whether the assistant may only look along or also schedule.
Can we connect several calendars?
Yes. The agent first asks which calendars are available and where it may write, and then works in the calendar that matches the question.
Can I switch to the Outlook calendar later?
That is anticipated. Both calendars have exactly the same actions, inputs and output shape, so an agent instruction that works with Google works unchanged with Microsoft 365.
